Smell-o-vision

We really should have smell-o-vision.

I am a Chanel girl. I love Chanel No. 5 and Coco (not Madamoiselle, thank you very much). Love. Them. Sure, I flirt with other perfumes now and then, but I always come back to Chanel. It’s timeless. It’s classic. It’s the perfume version of a little black dress.

But I have been seduced by the siren’s call again and this time, I’m not sure I’ll be going back.

Those of you who get Vanity Fair will have this in your April issue. It’s one of those stinky pages. Usually, I hate those things because the perfumes are generally geriatric or too heavy or there are competing scents and it gives me a big, fat headache. But this time, this time they were advertising this:

Donna Karan Gold. Oh, my, it’s lovely. It’s floral, but not overpowering. It’s light and sort of lily-of-the-valley-ish. It’s fucking gorgeous, is what it is. And it’s for sale at Saks Fifth Avenue. And where will I be this weekend? New York City (Noo Yawk CITY??!). Where I will be buying myself the smallest bottle, since funds are limited, but yes, oh yes, I shall have some.

I’m not a very girly girl, but there are a couple of things guaranteed to get me feeling all fluttery and feminine. Nail polish, shoes and yummy perfumes….

Now where did I put that bottle of OPI? And who hid my peep-toe pumps?

Oh, and the knitting? I’m totally rocking the knitting. Who knew?

i used to love different kinds of perfumes, but when i started dancing, i had to stop wearing them. too many people have allergies, so it’s generally considered rude to wear them at large social dance events. and since most of the time i go out i’m going to a dance event, it just didn’t seem worth it, so now i don’t even own perfume. so sad.

My scent is Magie Noir by Lancome. But I love Donna and can’t wait to come across the smelly page in a magazine. And I’ve been flirting with the thought starting knitting. My grandmother taught me when I was a kid, but I’ve long since forgotten. I really knew how to rock those needles.

Oooh, I wish I could smell the perfume. I love the idea of wearing perfume. Someday when I’m fabulous I’ll actually think about putting some on.The knitting talent is obviously in your genes.

Thanks for your comment. I will check at Sam’s club for the granola and see how much it is, I never thought of looking there. For perfumes, I either wear LiLu from Pac Sun or August from HollisterHave fun in NYC

I never go anywhere so I don’t need to worry about offending people with environmental sensitivities!I love fragrance and stopped at Macy’s to get a whiff – smells like hyacinth to me. Lovely.Of course, they were out of the cheapest size so I asked for some samples and she gave me FOUR of the minisprays. How’s that for luck?Have a good trip.
