Hannah Freakin’ Montana

I thought this picture was a bit misguided and
too provocative for a 15 year-old. At least, for
a 15 year-old who has a squeaky clean image.

But this picture? This picture completely squicks me out.

Duuuuude, I KNOW! I always wondered why people fixated on the sheet picture and weren’t yelling “Ewewewewewewewew!” over the other pic. Yeccchh!I have to say, I’m generally icked out by these teen starlets’ dads in general; Jessica and Ashley Simpson’s dad, Lindsay Lohan’s dad — they’re all kinda creepy dudes.

OK. I went through this when the pictures first came out, but I still stand by my position.First picture: suggestive, inappropriate.Second picture: notsomuch.Granted, my daughter is only three years old, but she lies on me like that sometimes when we’re watching television. If she does it when she’s fifteen, resting her head in my lap while we watch television, or read magazines, does that mean I’m some sort of perv? Does that imply we have some sort of inappropriate relationship? He’s her father for ****’s sake! For all we know when the cameras are off and it’s just the two of them in a room she calls him Daddy and has him wrapped around her little finger like so many girls have their dads. And if one of those girls hugs their dad, or if he cradles her in his arms, regardless of age, he’s still her father first, and a man second.

There’s a difference between a tender moment between a father and daughter (ie: laying on the couch watching tv, or hugging, or whatever) and the sex-pot look on her face in this picture. They both are making bedroom eyes….that’s the gross part. There were FAR FAR better ways to have a Daddy/Daughter picture for the magazine….and I ADORE my dad. But if he made a face like that at me, I’d wanna barf. And if my son and I did a picture like that when he’s 15? ICK….

Wow, they just look totally un-Miley, and I can’t say for the better. She looks horrible in both (kind of like when Hilary Duff when from chunky blond to anorexic black haired chick).I could think of many different ways to do a better father-daughter picture.

That second picture gives me the creeps too. But perhaps working in children’s mental health has tainted my view….

If I didn’t know who they were, I would think that they were lovers rather than father-daughter. YIKES!

I agree. I even saw a “couple” like this IRL recently, and me (and other people at the table) were pretty squicked. Something wasn’t right there.

Yup, that second picture is not right. There’s something really…wrong about it.

The first photo isn’t appropriate, the second is eh. As the product of a relatively unaffectionate father, I think I’m a little biased.

The first picture: bad make-up (she looks like a ghost), bad hair (greasy) and bad ideaThe second picture: definitely weird and something my dad and I would never had done (again with the unaffectionate father) but I am wondering what we would have thought had we not seen it with the other picture

I understand the flap about the first photo and its Lolita-ish overtones, but it’s a beautiful shot. She looks lovely, in a dewy, I’ll-get-you-thrown-in-jail way.But the second is Hasslehoffian in its horror. Brooke Sheilds denim and banjo plucking.

When did they start dating? I missed it! I watch TMZ all the time too! I need more days off so that I can stay current on the gossip! I hope she retires soon! I took my girls clothes shopping yesterday and it’s hard to find items without her name or face on them. ::sigh:: I’m sick of her! My girls are too!! Hope all is well with you and your girls!! I’m going to catch up on your posts!! Hugs and love, T

I maintain the stance that it is completely not her fault that pervs go all “omigod” when they see her back exposed… you see more in a bikini people!I guarentee 6 yr old girls everywhere arn’t like, “I’m going to go lay in beds like that just like Hannah Montana”. And thats if they even got their hands on a Vanity Fair issue… whose fault it that?haha wow.. im opinionated today.

Okay, if somebody took a picture of H at 15 and she looked like that I would have a fit. If dh ever took a picture with his daughter and it looked like that he would have explaining to do.That is a pose like dh and I did for our engagement. Way too much for a 15 year old girl. What happened to letting girls be girls not turning girls into women for the sake of money?
