Oh, Hi! How’ve Ya Been?

I didn’t really intend to take a blogging break, it just sort of happened that way. I haven’t been reading any blogs either. Things here have kind of gone all to hell.

Christmas was nice, but the next day, The Bug started puking. She’d had a cold for a few days prior to Christmas and I think the coughing is making her throw up. It’s still disgusting, though. And the whole not sleeping thing is even worse than before.

Two days ago, I started feeling punky. Slightly nauseous, muscle aches and an annoying headache thing. Lightheaded. Just weird. Last night, Boo started puking. It was a fantastic start to the New Year.

The not sleeping thing is wearing me out. I am so not enjoying being a parent right now. They seem to always be crying about something. Not just crying, screaming their fucking heads off. They never just call for me, it’s always “Mama! Mama! Mamamamamamamamamamamamamamama!” over and over and over again until I want to start screaming myself. Boo has these full-on, foot stomping temper tantrums and The Bug just shrieks herself into a quivering fury. Her face gets red, her veins stand out in her neck. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her turn into the Hulk one of these times.

I just want to fast-forward thru this crap. I hate that I don’t want to be around my kids, but right now, I really don’t. Some days, I just want to run away.

I am just amazed by the energy kids have for that sort of thing. I was talking to a friend on the phone for 45 minutes the other night while his 2 year old SCREAMED in the background…because he had napped too late and woke up about 7:30 pm which apparently always sets him off, unconsolable, and he doesn’t want my friend in the room with him (his wife was in with the boy). 45 minutes! Can you imagine screaming your head off for 45 minutes? It would be more exhausting than step aerobics.

That sucks. You DO deserve a parenting break, even for just a few hours. Get a sitter and go to a movie by yourself or get a pedicure and read trashy magazines the whole time. Seriously, the hassle it takes to line all that up will totally pay off and don’t let anybody give you any shit about it either!! There’s only so much screaming you can take and then you start being an ineffective parent. Thinking of you!

Uh, yeah…I hate that. I’ve had a few bouts of sickness + lack of sleep + sick kid in the past year and it couldn’t suck ass any more if it tried. I’m sorry. Listen to some Bizkit dear, and let all the pain and frustration just melt away…
